Whole Home Filtration — $2,800 Installed
Carbon + sediment filtration installed at your main water line.
South Bay water is drinkable but not clean in the way most homeowners want it to be. LA County's municipal supply runs high on calcium and magnesium (hard water), carries residual chlorine from disinfection, and varies in mineral content block-by-block depending on which treatment facility is feeding your part of the grid. That translates to scale buildup in fixtures, reduced efficiency on water heaters, faster wear on washing machines and dishwashers, and taste/odor issues that drive a lot of households to bottled water. A properly-specified filtration system addresses all of it at the main supply line so every tap in the house delivers treated water.
Whole-home systems install at your main supply line after the meter and treat every drop of water entering the property. Three-stage configurations are typical for South Bay homes: sediment pre-filter (removes particulates), carbon filter (removes chlorine, taste, odor, and organic compounds), and optionally a softener stage (treats hardness through ion exchange). Under-sink reverse osmosis systems are the add-on for drinking water at the kitchen sink — RO removes dissolved solids that whole-home filtration doesn't touch and delivers bottled-water quality from the tap. We size and spec each layer based on actual water test results rather than a standard package.

Maintenance is the part most filtration installers don't explain clearly. Sediment pre-filters need replacement every 3–6 months. Carbon filters last 6–12 months depending on usage. Softener resin needs periodic regeneration and eventual replacement (10–15 year intervals). RO membranes last 2–3 years. We set up a maintenance schedule with every installation and offer service contracts for households that prefer us to handle the replacements. A filtration system that doesn't get maintained eventually stops working — we make sure that doesn't happen.

How It Works
Water Test & System Sizing
We test your tap water for TDS, hardness, chlorine, and pH so the system is specified for your actual water profile. Production capacity (50 / 75 / 100 GPD) sized to household demand.
Under-Sink Installation
Four-stage manifold mounted to the cabinet, dedicated faucet installed in the sink or counter, cold-water supply tap, drain saddle, and pre-pressurized storage tank. Permit-free, 2–3 hour install.
System Flush & Verification
Initial 24-hour flush cycle to condition the membrane, TDS verification at the dedicated faucet (target: under 20 ppm from a 200–400 ppm source), and walkthrough of cartridge locations and replacement schedule.
Maintenance Schedule
Pre-filters every 6–12 months, post-carbon every 12 months, RO membrane every 2–3 years. We track your schedule and ship or install replacements on a service contract if requested.
